The basis of our educational conception includes the contextual approach and the methods of open work.

50 children ranging in age from 1 to 6 years (until they enter school), 10 of them with increased special needs are presently enrolled at BILLY.

The kids are grouped into one big group with so called "Bezugspädagogen/-innen" (a teacher who is responsible for the child´s well-being and keeps track of their development).

Responsible for the carrying out of our kindergarten concept are 14 pedagogues, supported by other staff members, volunteers, and trainees.

The daily speech is based on the mother tongue of the respective educators: German or English.

BILLY is situated in a house which has been designed specifically for our needs. The building offers optimal conditions for daily life with spacious and light-filled rooms which have no barriers.

We believe that children are agents of their own development. Each child with his or her individual interests and needs is at the centre of our pedagogical efforts.

The community of children with developmental requirements and levels as well as different cultural and linguistic origins creates many possibilities for integration and learning from one another.

A partnership between parents and educators concerning care and education is our goal.
