The kindergarten BILLY belongs to the association Quer-Wege e.V.

The other institutions belonging to Quer-Wege are:

• Early developmental advancement centre "Frühförderstelle Jena"
• In process: Free integrated comprehensive school

There are four core groups, each being named after the four seasons:
Group 1: children from 1 to approx. 2,5 years, located in a 2-room sheltered area within the kindergarten.
Group 2: children from 2,5 to 4 years, whose area encompasses the whole kindergarten.
Group 3: children from 4 to 5 years.
Group 4: children from 5 to school entrance.

The groups are cared for by specially qualified pedagogues. All of them feel responsible for all children at BILLY. However, certain educators are assigned to certain core groups in order to better support the learning and social integration processes of the children in these groups.

According the need, special educational enhancement and therapy sessions take place and are provided here at BILLY by appropriate specialists and physical therapists during the normal kindergarten schedule.

The kindergarten is opened from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We're closed between Christmas and New Year's Day.

During our monthly team meetings, our facility is closed in on the fourth Friday of the month starting at 12:30 p.m.

The lunch is delivered by the catering service "Buffet:ok". It's cooked with only organic ingredients. A kitchen staff employee prepares the children's lunch and is responsible for the kitchen and overall food-preparation cleanliness.

The caretaker is responsible for technical tasks and beyond.

An active and varied form of cooperation between parents and educators is openly wished for.
